2016 - 84” x 60” mixed media acrylic and oil on canvas
Dia de los Muertos is a celebration of Life and art. The Day of the Dead is regarded as a joyous occasion, not a sad one. It's a time for the living to remember, and celebrate, the departed. Traditionally, families of the dead visit the resting places of the living and leave their favorite foods as an offering.
Here is Antuan looking for the visual representations of his imaginative designs. Finding the skills to express himself in a visual format that explains the thoughts he's having of Mayans and Aztec art intersecting with Toltec Gods and Temples struggling to find order in the chaos of warring tribes.
