The People Behind the Paint

Dedicated masters. Curious beginners. Everyone in between.

Our artists-in-residence are the heart of PTG Studios — working artists given the space, materials, and freedom to push their practice further than their own studio allows.

Kim Johnson, Artist-in-Residence at PTG Studios

Kim Johnson

As one of our best-selling artists, Kim was the natural choice to kick off this project. She brings years of dedication and hard-won experience — yet still creates with the wide-eyed wonder and excitement a launch of this scale and vision demands.

How We Choose

We don't take applications. We take notice.

There's no form to fill out, no jury, no waitlist. Our residents aren't selected — they're recognized. We look for artists whose work stops us in our tracks and whose spirit fits the room, and the rest happens the way the best things usually do: naturally, unexpectedly, and exactly when it's meant to. If that sounds like an open door rather than a closed one, good. Keep making work worth noticing.

Other Ways Into the Studios

You don't have to live here to create here.

Residency is the deep end. But there are other ways for artists to step into the Studios — some brief, some hands-on, all real.

Visiting Artists

The Cameo

For established artists who just want to feel out the space, no strings attached. Book a short guest session and see what the Studios pull out of you. Three lengths, zero commitment on either side.

The Walk-On

A 2–4 hour session

The Day Pass

One full day in the space

The Long Take

A full week to dig in

Student Artists

Fresh Paint

For emerging and student artists still finding their voice. Fresh Paint gets newer artists into a real working studio, around real working artists, with room to experiment and learn by doing.

Events

Rent the Space

PTG Studios isn't just for making art — it's a space with character. If you're planning an event and want a backdrop that actually says something, reach out and let's talk.

You don't need a residency to be part of this.
