Undoubtedly one of the central figures of Italian film music, Alessandro Alessandroni defined the very essence of the Italian soundtrack sound of the 1960s/70s. With his vocal group, 'I Cantori Moderni' as well as his pioneering fuzzed reverb guitar sonorities, sitar explorations and phenomenal whistling techniques he is perhaps best known for his contribution in shaping the famous 'Spaghetti Western' sound in films such as ''Once Upon A Time In The West''. Alessandroni was however an amazingly inventive composer in his own right. One of the most desired sessions (and reported to be his own favorite recording) is ''Prisma Sonoro'', a mythical library LP issued in 1974 as a micro press on the highly collectable 'Sermi' label. Exquisitely crafted Italian mood music. Enchanting Spinet-propelled bossa infected with a mild lysergic delirium. Brimming optimism measured against scowling Giallo-guitars, mournful string and brass arrangements, as well as the sublimely plaintive voice of the legendary Edda Dell'Orso. Long regarded as the backbone of the Italian OST sound, here is Maestro Alessandroni in all his own lush psychedelic glory. First LP reissue of this highly collectable Italian Library session. Remastered from the original Sermi master tapes 2012. Deluxe replica of the original 1974 LP release. Liners notes by Library expert Jonny Trunk. Side A:1. Galleria Di Imagini2. Personale3.
