Birthmarks is the 3rd studio album by Piet Goddaers alter ego Ozark Henry and marked a turning point in his career. His previous work was experimental and avant-garde.
The songs on Birthmarks, all produced and arranged by Piet, sound a bit more mainstream and radio-friendly. However, the album includes some classical influences like string and horn-arrangements.

The second single of the album, ''Sweet Instigator'', became a commercial success. His shows in Brussels were sold out instantly and he performed at Pinkpop and Rock Werchter. Ozark Henry received 3 Zamu Award nominations and Birthmarks reached the Golden Status. For the first time since its original release in 2001, Birthmarks is now available on vinyl.

The package includes a 4 page booklet with liner notes, pics and lyrics. To top it off, the first pressing is a strictly limited edition. 500, individually numbered copies, are pressed on transparent vinyl.The album was eventually certified platinum.
